Lent Group – The Nail
Lent Course 2020
The Nail
By Stephen Cottrell
It has been announced that the Rt. Revd. Stephen Cottrell is to become the next Archbishop of York, when the Rt. Revd. John Sentamu retires in June. Some of you may recall that several years ago we studied his book, ‘The Nail,’ as our Lent course. In recognition of his new appointment as our Archbishop, I felt it would be appropriate to visit the ‘The Nail’ again this year. ‘The Nail’ looks at the crucifixion from the perspective of the witnesses who were around and involved at the time and seeks to discern if we would have acted differently had we been there ourselves.
We will meet at 7.30 pm in our newly reordered church on Thursday evenings during Lent, starting on Thursday 27th February. So please come along. There is no need to sign up. Each session is independent, so do not worry if you cannot make every Thursday. It will be very relaxed – you won’t have to speak if you don’t want to.
I look forward to seeing you there,
Steve
